    Operation Independence

    1-9 February 1967

    Location: An Hoa, Song Vu Gia, Hill 510, Quang Nam Province. Type: search and destroy. Controlling headquarters: 9th Marines. Task organization: 1/1 Marines, 2/4 Marines, 2/5 Marines, 1/26 Marines, 2/26 Marines (one company each). Execution: Operation took place west of An Hoa and south of the Song Vu GIa. Results: 139 enemy killed, 106 detained, 9 US KIA and 35 US WIA.
